ABOUT
Grace Ritter is a multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer, and producer from Dallas, Texas. Originally attended Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) for Mechanical Engineering, but transferred after her Co-op at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN. She now studies Recording Arts at Full Sail University and will earn her Bachelor of Science in 2024.
Grace is 21 years old, and has been performing for 15 years. Her primary instrument is Drums, which she started playing at age 6. Soon after, she began playing shows and festivals like Blues from the Top in Winter Park, CO. Grace met the artist, Kara Grainger, while performing at Blues from the Top. Kara started a record label called Station House Records. Grace works with the label identifying new talent as a Youth Music Scout. Grace spent a week in Wire Studio in Austin, TX apprenticing with Grammy-winning engineer, Stuart Sullivan, while Kara Grainger and artist & producer, Anders Osborne, and friends recorded "Living with Your Ghost." Grace consulted on mixing suggestions and song placements on records for the label.
Grace continued to play drums in her school's drumline from 6th grade until she graduated high school. She played the bass drums and then the tenors. She then became the first female captain for her last 2 years of high school. Exposed to many music genres, Grace was part of the inaugural jazz band and Essential Standards rock group.
From Grace's engineering and music interests, Grace built a 60-watt guitar/bass amp for her senior project. She worked closely with the design engineer for Category 5 amplification on the amp. After exposure to audio engineering classes, she found a summer co-op at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN. She also worked Venue Operations at Ascend Amphitheater for the summer. Grace absolutely loved her time at Blackbird and knew that this is the career she wanted. Prior to transferring, Grace worked at the RIT college radio station, WITR, as a Recording Engineer. She was able to apply her Blackbird experience to help set up the new studio for the radio station.
Grace delights in finding breakthrough artists before they hit it big. She has an ear to know what works.
Grace currently works as a freelance audio engineer while she finishes school at Full Sail. She is currently setting up her first-class home studio. She also does work as a Recording and Mix Engineer, Sound Designer, Audio Editor, Podcast Editor, and Producer.
